How OchtendKrant handles your data.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the publisher of OchtendKrant, whose details are listed in the imprint. Send privacy questions to info@devoxx.com.
What we collect
- Without consent: no analytics cookies and no measurement. Your browser only stores your choices for language, theme and cookies in the local storage of your own device. We do not read or send them anywhere.
- With consent: Google Analytics 4 measures which pages you view, when, with what kind of device and browser, and your approximate region. Google sets cookies (_ga) for this. Advertising features and Google Signals are turned off.
- Hosting: the site runs on Cloudflare. On every visit Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page and block attacks.
- Fonts: the fonts are served from our own server. Nothing is sent to Google or other third parties for this.
Why and on what basis
We measure visits only to understand which articles are read and to improve the paper. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Hosting and security rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and available (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Sharing and transfers
Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) and Cloudflare process data as our processors. Data may be transferred to the United States; both companies participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
How long
Google Analytics keeps data for the configured retention period, at most 14 months. Your choices for language, theme and cookies stay on your device until you clear them.
Your choice and your rights
You can withdraw your consent at any time via . Measurement then stops and we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Contact us at info@devoxx.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
